# Actions

Actions enable AI agents to automatically trigger outbound notifications and workflows when key events occur during an interaction—such as a user completing a conversational form or closing a chat session.

Without actions, conversations and submitted form data remain inside the platform session store until manually inspected or polled via the REST API. With actions configured, your agents actively deliver structured data and event notifications straight to your team's tools and inboxes in real time.

## Available Actions

AIsh.li currently supports the following outbound action integrations:

| Action    | Config Key      | Description                                                              | Guide                          |
| :-------- | :-------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------- | :----------------------------- |
| **Email** | `actions.email` | Deliver completed form submissions directly to configured email inboxes. | [Email Action Guide](email.md) |

> [!NOTE] Additional action targets, including outbound **Webhooks** and **Agent Dispatch**, are planned for upcoming releases.

## How Actions Work

Actions listen for interaction lifecycle events on the backend:

    actor Visitor as Website Visitor
    participant Agent as Form Agent
    participant Runtime as Server Runtime
    participant Target as Recipient Inbox/Webhook

    Visitor->>Agent: Completes form
    Agent->>Runtime: Form completed event
    Runtime->>Runtime: Collected data

    Agent-->>Visitor: "Thank you!"
