# Privacy & Data Protection

AIsh.li is built around a simple principle: your prompts, conversations, and business data belong strictly to you.

Most consumer AI platforms (such as the free web versions of Google Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot) are designed for consumer data collection. In exchange for free chat, they routinely log your prompts, use your conversations to train future foundation models, and sometimes have human annotators read your chats.

AIsh.li takes a fundamentally different, enterprise-grade approach to privacy and data sovereignty.

## Consumer AI Portals vs AIsh.li

Here is how AIsh.li compares to common consumer chatbots in plain everyday language:

## Our Zero-Training Commitment

When you use AIsh.li, all inference requests are processed through paid, commercial API agreements with upstream providers (such as Google Cloud).

Under these commercial agreements, the model providers are legally prohibited from using customer inputs, outputs, prompts, or conversation histories to train or fine-tune their foundation models.

Your data is processed in memory solely to generate the immediate completion and maintain your active multi-turn session.

## Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

For developers and organizations with strict compliance requirements, AIsh.li provides a **Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)** option:

- Enter your own Google AI Studio or Google Cloud Vertex AI API key under [Your Secrets](/secrets).
- Requests are routed directly to your personal or enterprise cloud billing account.
- Your data protection and retention policies apply directly under your own organization's agreements with the cloud provider.

> When using your own key, ensure you select a paid commercial billing tier if you want upstream zero-training guarantees. Third-party free tiers (such as Google AI Studio's free tier) may permit the provider to use inputs for training (see [AI Key details](key.md#free-tier)).

## Cookieless Web Privacy

We believe website analytics should respect user privacy:

- **No Third-Party Ad Cookies**: We do not sell data to data brokers or embed tracking pixels from social media ad networks.
- **Google Consent Mode v2**: Analytics storage is denied by default (`analytics_storage: 'denied'`). No persistent tracking cookies (`_ga`) are written to your browser.
- **Edge Proxying**: Any telemetry scripts are proxied through our own domain (`aish.li/gtag/...`) via Cloudflare's Google Tag Gateway rather than making direct calls to third-party tracking endpoints.
